Martin Laflamme: A Passion for Innovation

I admit that school didn't particularly appeal to me when I was young. However, I've always had a desire to learn, which prompted me to head straight for my father's workshop when I got home. My interest in mechanics, machining, development and performance has always been obvious and undeniable.

I added machining, welding and metallurgy to my repertoire, because I was often tired of waiting to receive a part, or because it simply didn't exist any more. That's when I decided to take courses to be able to make my own parts, so I could be independent and not depend on anyone.

A motorsports enthusiast, I spent a long time working in development for a number of well-known companies before opening my own workshop in 2008. Before starting my own business, I was involved in designing products for prototype vehicles or manufacturing prototype parts for certain companies.

I've always followed technological advances and have never been afraid to take risks to innovate. My passion for snowmobile and car racing has always driven me to develop, innovate, keep up with new technologies and surpass myself by creating parts to perform as well as possible.

Having raced with the world's best snowmobile drivers on ice ovals for over 15 years, including Jacques Villeneuve, the Bender brothers, the Decker brothers, the Vessaire brothers, Mike Houle and the Wahl brothers, on the world championship circuit in the USA and at the Valcourt Grand Prix in Canada, these experiences have taught me perseverance, innovation and discipline, qualities that I put into practice every day in my job.

Always a keen competitor, I still take part in drag races on grass in the Snow Stud Pro Stock Championship series in the USA and at the Temis Drag Fest in Canada.
